Roasterie

Established in 1972, Minglement is an organic food, herb, and spice store that for a long time was located in the Sound Food building on Vashon. Wanting to move her growing business to a larger space, owner Eva moved into the historic Seattle’s Best Coffee roasting facility just up the street after the Starbucks acquisition of SBC. Well over 100 years old, with its well worn wooden floors, charming front porch, dramatic high ceilings, and Jim’s original roasting equipment, Eva established the Vashon Island Coffee Roasterie to complement her Minglement business, and located both into the new location.

They have music from 11am-1pm most Saturdays, as well as various special events throughout the year. I adore playing there. It was the very first place I heard music when I moved to the island in 2002 (it was still SBC at that time) – a local band called Bob’s Your Uncle. It was where I first met local musicians that have since become friends and musical partners.
